It is hoped that this resource will heighten awareness and sensitivity and help organizations address LGBTQ seniors’ particular social needs. Social isolation is a silent reality experienced by many seniors, particularly LGBTQ seniors. This supplement is a resource to help organizations and service providers adopt approaches to help lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ Footnote 6) seniors strengthen human connections. The Government of Québec intends to fully assume its responsibilities for seniors in Québec. However, it does not subscribe to, or take part in, integrated federal, provincial and territorial approaches to seniors. Québec contributes to the FPT Seniors Forum by sharing expertise, information and best practices. The Forum is an intergovernmental body established to share information, discuss new and emerging issues related to seniors, and work collaboratively on key projects.
